Root Canals

Poor Tyler has had teeth problems his whole life. I'm not sure if any of you know this but he had a tooth ache the night before he went to the MTC, even though his dentist had signed off on everything. He went anyways and things just kept getting worse. He spent most P-Days at the dentist/ endodontist getting root canals and crowns. Most of it was preventative- they wanted to make sure he would still go to Argentina on time and not have any problems there. They eventually decided to release him so he could get everything taken care of. After a month he went straight to Argentina so he could be with the rest of his MTC district instead of going back to the MTC.

Disclaimer: Ty wants everyone to know he takes immaculate care of his teeth brushing 3 times a day, flossing twice a day and going to the dentist every 6 mo....its just been that he's had bad dentists!!

He thought that was the end of it but after an appointment with a new dentist they found that most of the old root canals had problems and were infected. Ty's poor body has been fighting a major ACTIVE infection for 6 YEARS!!!!

Today he went in for the first leg of his treatment where they cleaned out the old root canal and filled it with medicine so everything can start growing back properly. It'll be 3 months before all of the treatment is over.

He's glad this isn't all happening at the same time he's about to head to a foreign country for 2 years but he's been pretty stressed/ mad about the whole thing. I, however, have had so much fun taking care of him for a change!

Tonight we got a Jamba Juice and rented the Tooth Fairy...we thought that was pretty appropriate :) Everyone cross your fingers everything heals right and the end of this nightmare is almost over!!!
