3 Star Media

Ty recently sold his amazon sales business, 3 Star Media so that he would have more time to prepare for the GMAT and getting his MBA.  It was harder to see go than we both though so Ty wrote a silly obituary for it. Enjoy :)

3 Star was born on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 3:33 p.m. to owner Tyler Brown and later to Ali Skalla, who adopted 3 Star, after overcoming her early skepticism. He weighed only 7 books heavy at birth in the Murray, UT Deseret Industries.  It's beginnings were humble in a small closet in Tyler's room in Springville, UT.

3 Star lived a happy and meaningful life. He was known for his love of traveling and his frequent 3 day excursions to visit his fans across the country and all mail accessible foreign territories. 3 Star had a vibrant thirst for knowledge and would often be found reading literature on finance, history and bio-chemistry. Among other admirable characteristics, 3 Star was a workaholic. He never actually slept a night of his life, making sales and doing business all over the world.  His owners would love waking up to his reports of sales while they were sleeping.  

Life was not always easy sailing for 3 Star.  As a troubled youth, he had constant bouts with larceny.  Denver criminal records revealed a late night ransacking of the Skalla home, taking everything with a barcode and emptying the fridge of all caffeinated beverages.  3 Star also had a unique interest in pioneer irrigation in the uppersnake river valley.  The only physical copy of the book in Utah went missing in 2009 and has since resurfaced on the eastern seaboard.  After paying top dollar for a PI, Roy and Marcy Brown still have an empty void in their bookcase.  These experiences caused 3 Star to reassess his priorities and true happiness. Eventually it became a catalyst to a life of service and honest work.  He decided to invest in himself, through rigorous training, more efficient production and becoming less maintenance to his employer. 

After these improvements, 3 Star kept growing and growing and needed more space.  This is when he forced the Brown's to move to a new apartment with another room he could use as his office.  Despite his success, Ali Brown would always rush to shut the office door when guests came over so they would not see his full shelves of nearly 2,000 books which overwhelmed the room.

3 Star was a prototypical family man. All of his energy and resources went to the betterment of his loving owners.  Most notably, 3 Star was instrumental in paying for the engagement ring of soon to be Mrs. Ali Brown. 

 He also facilitated the repayment of the Browns primary vehicle and their outstanding student loans.  Benevolence beamed from the core of 3 Star.  Upon his death, it was learned that he left a sizable inheritance to owners Tyler and Ali Brown.  

Journals show that 3 Star spent countless weekends with financial connoisseur, Randy Skalla, to hone his estate planning skills.  Deeply saddened by the loss of his young financial apprentice, Randy was unavailable for comment.  He was truly selfless in every sense of the word.  Tanner Brown had this to say about the altruistic 3 Star, “3 Star inspired me.” 

He was inspirational to many others.  Jennifer Hall was a benefactor of 3 Star’s relentless desire to assist his loved ones. He helped her unload various personal items in return for a small profit. Ryan Skalla also benefited from 3 Star in a similar fashion. When he was asked to comment on the loss of 3 Star, he said, “ 3 Star was like a brother to me. Always lifting my spirits. I long for the day when we are reunited.”

3 Star will always be in our hearts. Time is a limited commodity but memories never die. May 3 Star’s final words, on his death bed, forever linger in our minds. “Remember me. Remember what I stood for. Celebrate my life...not my death.”
