After the kids went to bed the adults had fun playing games but the best part was the most wonderful present Roy and Marcy gave us this year. Ty is the great, great, great.... grandson of Brigham Young, through Marcy's side and the family has some really really cool heirlooms from Grandpa Brigham. My favorite has always been the blessing chair. The story is Brigham went and plopped his bum down in a snow bank and told the craftsman to make him a chair that fit his bum print perfectly. Generations later and now we have the blessing chair, a chair the family has always used when giving special priesthood blessing in times of need or illness. This year for Christmas, Marcy had six nearly exact replicas of the blessing chair made, one for each of her kids. The only difference is the chair is about two inches taller, which makes it a lot more comfortable for the taller people of this generation. This chair means so much to us and we hope our kids love and cherish it like we have.
